James Lewis "Jim" Phillips, 88 of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on June 25, 1937, in Elk City, Oklahoma to Henry Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Yadon) Phillips. Jim looked upon the face of his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Jim was a road and bridge maintenance worker for Roger Mills County, Oklahoma for over twenty-five years. He treasured sharing the Lords Ministry through his music by playing the guitar and singing in harmony with quartets and choirs. He enjoyed riding horses, and as a young man he enjoyed jumping the train from Carpenter to Elk City, Oklahoma.

Jim had a deep personal relationship with the Lord and was a member of the First Assembly of God, Elk City, Oklahoma, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Jim enjoyed volunteering at Bell Avenue and other Nursing Homes, he would assist the residents with mobility and refreshments. He also enjoyed singing to the residence and felt like part of the staff at Bell Avenue. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, he will be deeply missed and greatly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2025 at Community Fellowship Church, Hammon, Oklahoma. Dolan Ivey will officiate. Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing his memory is his daughter, Tambra Weeks of Independence, Missouri; and three sons, David Phillips of Sayre, Oklahoma, Randy Phillips of Clinton, Oklahoma, Kevin Phillips of Elk City, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edward and Mary Elizabeth Phillips; and one brother, Edward Phillips.

Memorials can be made to the Oklahoma Baptist University Prison Divinity Program, Shawnee, Oklahoma in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box 707, Elk City, Oklahoma 73648.
