STOW - James David Phillips, 80, passed away September 15, 2025.
Born in Warren, Ohio, on January 18, 1945, Jim was a graduate of Youngstown State University and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He served two years in the U.S. Army, then continued his employment at Sherwin Williams when he earned his CPA. Several different corporate jobs later, he purchased Baumgardner Company in Tiffin, Ohio, before retiring at the age of 66.
After moving back to Ohio, he settled in Stow, where he was a member of First Christian Church of Stow. Jim was an excellent golfer, Browns fan, and loved auto racing.
Preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice; father, Chester; daughter, Jaymi Paskhe, and brother, Chester, Jr., he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda; step-daughter, Laura Von Stein (Briggs); grandson, Zachery; step-grandson, George, and his nephews, Gary, Chet, II, and Brian.
Reverend Jonathan Rumburg will conduct a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:30 PM, at the First Christian Church of Stow, 3493 Darrow Road, Stow 44224.
