Mr. James Daniel "Dan" Pittman, 78, died Thursday night (December 31, 2015) at his brother's residence following an extended illness. He was born in Clinch County but had lived in Waycross all of his life. He was a retired Health Inspector with the State of Georgia and a Bee Keeper for Sue Bee Honey. He was also a member of Suwannee Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Pittman was a son of the late Joseph Edgar Pittman and Jessie Mae Henderson Pittman. He is survived by his brother, Gerald Pittman (Carolyn) of Waycross; three nieces and nephews, Greg Pittman (Rose) of Manor, Debra Denmark (Al) of Waycross, and Wayne Pittman (Teresa) of Blackshear; sixteen great nieces and nephews, Dannon Pittman, Jessie Pittman (Kaylan), Zack Pittman, Shelby Pittman, Will Thrift, Clay James (Mikel), Kelly Griffis (Lanier), Brice Denmark (Jennifer), Brett Denmark (Paige), Taylor Denmark (Kyra), Wayne Pittman (Lacy), Rachel Daniel (Garrett), Chris Pittman, Brandon Pittman, Brad Fitzgerald, and Samantha Fitzgerald; seventeen great great nieces and nephews, Bryson Pittman, Jace James, Mason Bean, Maddox Bean, Brylie Griffis, Hamp Griffis, Brickson Denmark, Aniston Denmark, Tate Denmark, Kayden Denmark, Dax Denmark, Kaylah Pittman, Addison Pittman, Natalie Pittman, Hannah Pittman, Luke Daniel, and Gage Daniel. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (January 3, 2016) at Suwannee Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in Suwannee Chapel Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening at Music Funeral Home from 6 until 8 o'clock. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com.
