James Plaskiewicz Obituary
James Walter Plaskiewicz, 86 years, of Temperance, MI, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Aspen Grove Assisted Living in Lambertville, MI. The son of Stanley and Wanda (Kotowicz) Plaskiewicz, he was born on October 26, 1938, in Toledo, OH.
James worked as a Quality Control Manager for the Dana Corporation, retiring in 1992, after nearly 35 years. In May of this year, James and Martha (Janiszewski) celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He was always a happy, easy-going kind of person who loved the outdoors, rather it be fishing at his and Martha's lake cottage in Hillsdale County, along with deer and mushroom hunting. James was a member of the Ottawa River Yacht Club and the Dana Spiced Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Ann (Janiszewski) Plaskiewicz; children, James W. Plaskiewicz Jr., Pamela (Mike) McPeek and Susan M. Bennett; grandchildren, Ashlee (Michael) Wilson, Heather (Jon) Metzger, Michael (Cassie) McPeek and EJ Bennett; great-grandchildren, Waylon Metzger, Josie Metzger and Sunny McPeek; sister, Mary Lou Pirucki-Hall and Geraldine (James) Martis. He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, William Schmidt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in the Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI, where visiting will begin after 10:00 a.m., in the narthex. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo, OH.
