Dear Sandra, Thomas, Stack, Jay and Tom, I was so very saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I graduated from Harding with Jim. He was a great kid and a great man!! What rare and stellar accomplishments in leading the boy scouts for so many years!! It is very hard to remain as dedicated as he was!! He touched so many lives and so many boys will be better men because of Jim!! You must be so proud of him!! Godspeed Jim!! See you on the other side. Troop 101 lost a true leader, and we lost a very dear friend and neighbor. Jim was always there to help lend a hand if needed. I will forever miss that crazy Jim wave he always gave me while we mowed our lawns. His smile was contagious. Sandy, please know that we will always be there for you if you ever need us. We will forever miss you Jim! May you watch over your Troop 101 up there in Heaven...carry on Scout Master

I am Mike Kunz's (a troop 101 Eagle Scout) mother and wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to the Potjunas family and to express gratitude for his caring service and dedication to the troop and his friendship with my son Mike. May he rest in peace after a life well lived.

There will always be people in your life who make a lasting impact. Jim was the first adult who helped me become one. He was intelligent, logical, dedicated, caring, and selfless. He was the best parent figure I'd ever had, and I'll always treasure the investment he made in me, the patience, and the love.

I was shocked to read of Jim's death. He certainly was a dedicated scouter, scouting will miss his leadership.
