James H. Price

James (Jim) H. Price, 86, of Chaumont, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, February 7th, 2025.
Born on July 9th, 1938 in Watertown, NY, James was the son of Leslie and June (Dulmage) Price. He attended Watertown High School and served in The United States Navy where he was Honorably discharged. James worked for the Town of Lyme Highway Department for over 20 years, in addition to this, he also served as Village Mayor, a Town of Lyme Councilman and he was a member of the Chaumont volunteer fire department for 50+ years.
He enjoyed Little League baseball in Lyme and coached it throughout the years. Besides spending time with his family, pets and friends James loved to fish including ice fishing, watch sports, especially the Syracuse Orange and NY Giants and bowling was one of his favorite pastimes for many years he was in a league.
James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judith Price, children, Christopher (Dana) and Matthew (Tammy), siblings, Janice (Carl) Marchetti and Thomas (Stephanie) Price, as well as five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
James is predeceased by his son, Michael Price, and a sister, Patricia Pawling.
Calling hours will be held at Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont, NY, on Thursday, February 13th from 1 PM to 3 PM. Followed by a Celebration of Life immediately after at the Blue Heron Restaurant.
