James "Pete" Puckett

James "Pete" Puckett, Sr., age 82, of Carrollton, AL died November 27, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Rusty Walker officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William O. Puckett and Bessie Louise Puckett Bridgeman; stepfather, Erskine Earl Bridgeman and two younger sisters, Betty Shade and Becky Donohue.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger Carroll Puckett of Carrollton; daughters, Wendy Barton (Tommy) of Reform and Bobbie Unruh (Trent) of Sulligent; son, James A. "Tony" Puckett Jr. (Jessica) of Reform; brother, Carl "Skinner" Bridgeman (Sara Lee) of Pickensville; five grandchildren, Jordy Barton (Lauren), Justin Barton (Leah), Amber Barton, Sianna Cates (Heath) and Byron Puckett and one great-grandson, Nash Thomas Barton.
Pete was born June 22, 1943 in Aliceville, Alabama. He was a member of Aliceville Family Worship Center and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and a veteran a of United States Navy and Army National Guard.
