My sincere condolences to the family. Jim "Rack" was such a pleasure to work with. He loved talking about his family and grandkids. He helped make me feel a part of the photo team when I came to the Post in the late 90's. And I remember fondly a great day we had with him taking me along on his assignments. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to know him.

Jim was a kind person and talented photographer beloved by everyone at the Post-Dispatch. In my reporting days, he helped me greatly on assignments by "warming up" reluctant story subjects. As an editor, I valued his consummate professionalism on countless special projects. Rest in peace, old buddy.
