James Readenour Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnson-Williams Funeral Home on Mar. 3, 2026.
James Dale Readenour, 56, of Meridian, Mississippi, formerly of Trimble, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Meridian, Mississippi.

Mr. Readenour was born on November 26, 1969, to James Readenour and Barbara Alsip.

James was a dedicated supervisor at Fairbanks Scales in Meridian, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He took great pride in his work and in the team he helped lead. Those who worked alongside him knew him as dependable, steady, and always willing to do whatever needed to be done. His dedication was not just to the job itself, but to doing it well and doing it right.

Outside of work, James found his greatest joy in fishing. Whether he was casting a line into a quiet farm pond, sitting patiently along a river bank, or heading out into deeper waters, he was at peace with a rod and reel in his hand. Fishing wasn't just a hobby for him-it was a place of reflection, relaxation, and simple happiness. Many cherished memories were made beside the water.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Readenour will be held James on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Church Without Walls (CWW) located at 2227 Lake Road in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Pastor Zach Bennard.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Georgia Readenour of Meridian, Mississippi; one son, Matthew Readenour (Hope) of Munford, Tennessee; one daughter, Samantha French (Bryan) of Newbern, Tennessee; Father, James Readenour of Meridian, Mississippi; two step-daughters, Amber Gourley and Kayla Henderson; one step-son, Christopher Henderson; one brother, Nathan Readenour (Cynthia),one sister, Destiny Bramlett (Michael); sister-in-law, Marlene Readenour and a host of grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Alsip; stepmother, Donna Readenour and one brother Jason Readenour.
