James "Kenneth" Reid

Sep 30, 1940 - Oct 8, 2025

James Kenneth Reid, 85, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born in Walnut Cove on September 30, 1940, to the late James and Ella Alley Reid. Kenneth retired from GMAC Insurance as a senior software systems engineer after 37 years of service. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall and Spencer Reid.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Albert Reid; three children, Gale Starbuck, Eric Reid (Kimberly), and Sharon Stafford (Kim); seven grandchildren, Alex Starbuck, Travis Starbuck (Terah), Casey Starbuck (Shelby), Ethan Reid, Logan Reid, Ashlyn Reid, and Scout Stafford; three great grandchildren, Isaiah Starbuck, Sullivan Starbuck and Callahan Starbuck; a brother, Marvin Reid; three sisters, Carolyn Mabe (Carlo), Hilda Hall (Joe), and Patsy Mabe (Donnie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Salem Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Salem Chapel Christian Church Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 1085 Walnut Cove, NC 27052. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
