James "Jamie" P. Rewakowsky, 53, of Portsmouth, died Monday, November 3, 2025 at his home. He was born February 9, 1972 in Port Alberni, Canada to the late Lawrence Rewakowsky and Shirley (Yazell) Plummer of Portsmouth.
Jamie was huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and also loved cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, James Paul Rewakowsky, a nephew, BJ Grooms, and his grandparents, Paul and Mary Rewakowsky and James and Minnie Yazell
Jamie is survived by his mother, Shirley Plummer, of Portsmouth, a brother, Billy Grooms (Cindy Bradford) of Portsmouth, two sisters, April Buffington of Portsmouth and Jena Rewakowsky of San Antonio, TX, a half-brother, Curtis Rewakowsky, a step-son, Brent Martin (Stevie), three step-grandchildren, Aiden, Olivia, and Waylon, and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Pastor Brian Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow at Firebrick Cemetery in Kentucky. A visitation for friends and family will be Saturday starting at noon at the funeral home until the start of service.
