James Arthur Rhodes

James Arthur Rhodes, the son of Arthur and Martha (Harrington) Rhodes, was born on April 19, 1951, in Spencer, Iowa. He was born and raised in Spencer before settling in sunny Cape Coral, Florida in 1990.  Jim served in the Army from 1970 to 1971.           

He married Glenda on December 9, 1985, in Las Vegas, NV. James had several jobs in Cape Coral including building boats for parasailing before finally settling down handling warehouse duties for BJ’s Wholesale Club. During his time off from work, Jim enjoyed fishing, reading, carpentry and spending time with his grandchildren.  

 Jim passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Gulf Coast Hospital at the age of 72 with his family by his side. 

    Jim is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Glenda.  Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Tom (Deb) of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Pam (Dwayne) Freeman of Spencer, Iowa. His oldest daughter, Kimberly Baccam and husband, Then of Marshalltown, Iowa and their three sons, Anthony, Zachary, and Tyler.  Jim also has his first great-granddaughter, Denver.   His only son, Kevin Yeager and wife Candice of Fort Myers, Florida, and their children: Alexis, Hunter and Spencer. His youngest daughter, Kerry Johnson and husband, Eric of Cape Coral, Florida, and their children: Erika, Noah, Alissa, Aleesha, Kenzy and Jasmine.  In addition to many other relatives and friends.
