James Riddell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hager Funeral Home on Dec. 9, 2025.
Mr. James Gary Riddell, beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025 at the age of 47. Born on April 28, 1978, in Hamilton, OH, he lived a life of deep love and unfaltering dedication to his family.

A devoted father, he poured his heart into his children, guiding them through life with patience, humor, and unwavering love. He was a man who often kept his feelings quiet, but his actions spoke endlessly about how much he cared. Though misunderstood at times, his intentions were always rooted in love, protection, and wanting the best for those around him.

He will be remembered for his strength, his stubborn but gentle spirit, and the way he could bring comfort simply by being present. His legacy lives on through his children, Malleigh and Presleigh, who will forever carry his lessons, his stories, and his love with them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Riddell; his brother-in-law, Scott Skaggs; and many more loved ones. He is survived by his children, Malleigh (Hailee) Toler, and Presleigh Riddell; his sister, Amy Skaggs; his mother, Linda Riddell; his nieces, Paige Barger, and Hailey (Devin) Harper; and his great niece and great nephew, Waylon Barger, and Dallas Harper.

A service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 12:00 Noon, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Garry Hicks officiating. Friends and family will gather to share memories and celebrate the impact he made on all who knew him. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the funeral home to aid the family with the funeral expenses.

He will be forever missed and deeply loved.

Revelation 21:4 – He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain, for then old order of things has passed away.
