James Rouprich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory - Daphne on Mar. 16, 2026.
James Jude Rouprich, age 86, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Daphne, AL. He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

James was born on April 14, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Ouida and Ashland Rouprich. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jackie and his beloved wife, JoAnn, whom he had longed to join again.

He is survived by his daughter, Rachael (Mark) Schuler of Charlotte, North Carolina; his son, Randall Rouprich and former daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Rouprich of Greenville, South Carolina; and his two granddaughters, Sara and Lauren Schuler of Chicago.

James proudly served his country in the United States Army and later in the Air National Guard Reserves, reflecting his lifelong sense of duty and patriotism. After serving in the Army, James built a successful career in the electrical industry, working for Cutler Hammer and later General Electric. His jobs took him from New Orleans to Little Rock, AR, Bloomington, IL, Greenville, SC, Birmingham, AL and eventually Daphne, AL, where he resided for the last 28 years.

James built lasting friendships in all these locations but most notably in New Orleans as a founding member of the Lucky 13 Club and in Daphne as a proud member of the Shadow Barons.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1505 Main Street in Daphne, AL. Visitation will be from 10AM-10:45AM at the Immaculata Center, 1601 Main Street, Daphne, AL. He will be interred at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, AL.
