Jim Rowe, 57, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on November 26, 2025. He was born on October 29, 1968, in Evanston, Illinois, to Ann Rowe and the late Robb Rowe.
Jim proudly served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and serving with distinction in the Special Forces (Green Berets). He completed rigorous Airborne and Air Assault training and received multiple commendations, including the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and the Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Service Star. His service was one of the great honors of his life, and he carried that pride with him always. After leaving the military, Jim built a long and successful career with UPS, where he formed lasting friendships and was known for his strong work ethic and leadership.
Outside of work, Jim lived a life centered around the people he loved. His family meant the world to him, and he especially cherished the trips and experiences he shared with his son. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, grilling, sports, and spending time outdoors, whether at the beach or camping in the mountains around a campfire with his partner Elizabeth. Jim had a natural ability to meet and connect with people, loved his dogs deeply, and found joy in learning new things and helping those around him.
Jim is survived by his partner, Elizabeth Mullane Richmond; his son, JD Rowe, and daughter-in-law, Hailey Rowe; his granddaughter, Emma Rowe; his mother, Ann Rowe; and his sister, Beth Kreissl, and her husband, Brent; and his two nephews, Charlie and Andrew Kreissl. He was preceded in death by his father, Robb Rowe.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private ceremony will be held with close family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Folds of Honor, a nonprofit that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled U.S. service members and first responders.
