I was surprised and deeply saddened to learn of Jim's death. We knew each other for over 24 years through multiple surveys, training, and conferences. What stands out was the ready smile, sense of humor, and the fact that he never seemed to take himself too seriously. At the same time he supported his co-surveyors and always wanted to improve. I will miss him. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

I was so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Jim and I did the first CARF survey in Israel. He was so great to work with and we always shared that mutual memory and special experience. At a CARF survey in New York several years later, our friendship didn't miss a beat and we took a nice walk and talk together on the streets of Manhattan. I share the family's grief and may his memory be a blessing.

Jim and I worked on many surveys throughout the years. We would always go to local universities and he would buy sports gear with logos for exercise. We would look at stadiums and he would tell us stories of barbecue tastings. Peace be with you and your loved ones.
