James John Ruppenthal, age 66, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on July 3, 2024, at AngelsGrace Hospice. Jim was born on May 20, 1958 to Leland and Helen Ruppenthal (nee Aeschlimann) in Milwaukee, WI.
As the proud owner of Midwest Grinding Inc, a company he dedicated decades of hard work to since the late 1970s, Jim leaves behind a legacy of professionalism and excellence in the industry. His commitment and passion for his work inspired those around him and earned him the respect of his peers and colleagues.
Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed motorcycles and hotrod cars, finding excitement in anything with a motor. Jim was a man of many talents and passions, but none greater than his love for sailing on the serene waters of Lac Labelle. His joy in life was found navigating the waters, feeling the wind in his hair, and embracing the tranquility of the lake. This passion brought him endless happiness and unforgettable moments that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his wife Nancy; two children Daniel and Joseph; grandson Evan; sister Heidi (Ray) Ryan; aunt Betty Yoh; nephews Ryan Rogers, Jamison Rogers, Forrest Ryan; niece Lauren Ryan; and cousin Michelle (Tom) Elmergreen and their daughter Lauren; along with many other loving family and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his sister Carol Rogers.
The family wishes to extend their utmost gratitude to the compassionate staff at Angels Grace Hospice and also to Dr. Diane Gallo for her friendship, expertise, kindness and unwavering support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Seena Magowitz Foundation in Jim's name are welcome.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) from 3:00PM-5:00PM with a service to follow.
