James Warren "Jim" Ryder

1962 - 2024

James Warren Ryder, age 61, known affectionately as "Jim" by those who cherished him of Granite Falls, left this world on January 22, 2024. Born September 18, 1962, he was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, and friend, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is now reunited with his father, Charles Ryder, in eternal peace and is survived by his mother, Loretta Sue Shull Ryder, who shares in the grief of losing a son who brought so much joy and warmth into the lives of those around him.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Dawn Ryder, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. He also leaves behind his son Wesley Ryder and wife Madi, along with their four children Naylen, Kale, Kaitlyn, and CJ. His daughter Chelsea Edwards and husband Cody, and their two children Easton and Ava, were also blessed to call him father and grandfather.
He is also survived by his brother Tim Ryder, sister in-law,Lisa Huffman Ryder, as well as nephew Dusty Ryder, partner Tylitha, and daughter Ariel; nephew Caleb Ryder and wife Starla, along with their two children Colton and Raiven, also mourn the loss of a beloved uncle.
Additionally, he is survived by a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who were all an integral part of Jim's life.
Jim's life was a testament to his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, and he dedicated himself to leading others towards that same spiritual path. He found joy in spreading the teachings of Christ and lived his life with a profound sense of purpose.
Among his favorite pastimes, Jim found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Riding motorcycles brought him a sense of freedom, while fishing and hunting allowed him to connect with nature. He loved making deer jerky, a skill that he shared with friends and family, leaving them with a taste of his love and generosity. However, his greatest source of happiness was undoubtedly found in the laughter and playfulness of his grandchildren. Whether engaging in outdoor activities or sharing quiet moments, he cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories with them.
Known for his kindness and generosity, Jim was always willing to extend a helping hand to those in need, whether they were close family or strangers. His legacy of compassion and selflessness will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
In celebrating Jim's life, let us remember the joy he brought, the lessons he shared, and the love that will forever endure in our hearts. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the heavenly embrace he so faithfully sought throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life service to honor and remember Jim will be held at Mountain Grove Church in Granite Falls on January 28, 2024. Receiving of friends will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00PM with the service to follow at 3:00PM with Dr. Jerry A. Bentley officiating. His final resting place will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Toys for Tots or Operation Christmas Child, reflecting Jim's spirit of generosity.
