My sincere sympathies to the Saunders family. Sergeant Saunders was the advisor to our police acadamy class back in 1967. He was a personal friend whom we all looked up to and trusted as we went through our studies. His professionalism and caring attitude will always be remembered by those of us who served with him. May the Lord comfort his family in their loss.

I extend my heart-felt sympathy to the family of Jim Saunders. He was my first supervisor when I joined the Richmond PD in 1968. His guidance and good counsel to a brand new police officer helped shape my career. He was a good leader, but more especially, a good man. He will be missed, but he will be remembered.
