James Edward Scharenbroch, 79, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones and his dog Sadie.
James was born on May 12, 1945, in Darboy, Wisconsin, to Edward and Rita (Dietzen) Scharenbroch.
Jame served in the United States Navy as a Seabee. After his service, he worked as a carpenter building houses. He retired from that and worked for a few years for his son in Heating and Cooling. Eventually, he settled in as the “cranky” landlord over his daughter, Angela.
James, known to many as Jim, or Jimmy, was a diehard Rams, Dodgers and Lakers fan. He also really enjoyed spending time with his buddies from his neighborhood playing cards for the last 25 plus years.
He was a kind, quiet man, who loved his children and would help anyone who needed it. He was a lifelong dog lover and at one point in his younger years had a team of huskies. Later in his life he was never seen without a Rottie or two by his side.
Jimmy is survived by his children Rick (Kendra) Scharenbroch, Dennis (Holly) Scharenbroch, Diane Scharenbroch, Rachael (Eric) Sturm, Angela Scharenbroch, grandchildren Corey, Bryce, Anastasia, Athena, Steven (Veronica) Kyle, Nick, Caleb, Dominic, Bentley and great grandchildren Theodore, Benjamin, A’zhari, Aurora, Dexter, Kyrie and Elaina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Zachary Her.
Services for Jim will be private.
