James R. Schuecking, 90, of Quincy, passed away at 11:50 pm Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
There will be no services.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy.
James was born October 30, 1930, in Quincy, IL to Ben and Mary L. (Schreacke) Schuecking.
He was married to Shirley J. Smith on September 15, 1951 in Quincy, IL. She preceded him in death on May 14, 2019.
Survivors include two children, Jeff Schuecking (Dawn) of Quincy, IL and Lynn Fischer (Kevin) of Quincy, IL, and one grandchild, Katie Schuecking.
In addition to his wife, James was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Marion, Paul, and Leo Schuecking; and two sisters, Iola Geise and Vivian Andrews.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1953.
James worked at State Street Store for many years. He was a member of the Southside Commercial Club and was a lifetime member of the Northside Boat Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Quincy Humane Society Endowment Fund, Parkview Church, Blessing Hospice, or the Quincy Park Band.
