James Elbridge Sharp

Mr. James Elbridge Sharp, age 82, a resident of Lockesburg, AR, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born September 20, 1943, to Dee and Delta Sharp in Sevier County. He graduated from Lockesburg High School. After high school, James attended Pines Vo-Tech in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to earn a degree in machining. He then worked at Martin Machine Shop in Pine Bluff. He later became self-employed in the chicken business for 33 years. He also started his own machine shop, Gravely Point Machine Shop, which remained open for 30 years, and he was in the cattle business for 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his three sons, daughters-in-law, Greg and Tara Sharp of Texarkana, Texas; Ron and Rena Sharp of Lockesburg, AR; Marlon and Kristy Sharp of Lockesburg, AR; and their mother, Janice Austin of Lockesburg. His present wife of 16 years, Deauatun Sharp; three grandsons, Trent Sharp, Garrett Sharp, and Cory Sharp; two stepsons, David Stapp and Bruce Stapp of McCaskill, AR; six grandchildren, Erica Tollett, Reagan Soto, Tiffany Smith, Emma Sharp, Sarah Sharp, Kaylee Gideon; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Sharp of Prosper, Texas.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Sharp will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Belleville Cemetery Pavilion with Garrett and Trent Sharp officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
