James Craig Sharpe passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at his home in Granite Bay surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his two children, Ryan James and Melissa Nicole, and his sister Deborah Sharpe.
Jim was born in Biloxi Mississippi on an Air Force Base to James Robert Sharpe and Astrid Meredith Sharpe. At a young age, his family moved out west where his father began his dental practice. Jim grew up in Menlo Park and graduated from San Francisco State with a degree in Accounting. He went on to earn his Certified Public Accountant license. He worked both in private industry and public accounting for various firms. He loved working with numbers.
Jim was a devoted husband and loving father. He always had multiple projects going on. There was never a project too big or small that he would not take head on. But his real passions were his family/friends, hunting, camping and fishing. From trips to Eagle Lake to Fall River to the Loggers Duck Club; from his firework shows on New Year's Eve to teaching the "new guys" (including his children) what it meant to be a responsible hunter. He had an infectious smile and loved to make people smile too.
He and his wife loved to travel. Among their favorites, was a trip to the Holy Land and then on to South Africa for a 6-day safari. Upon returning to the US, Jim decided to enroll in RCIA and join the Catholic church. He loved the St. Joseph Marello parish family and enjoyed participating in all parish activities and events.
Jim touched many lives. He had many friends and was fortunate enough to have three life-long friends whose friendships totaled more than 167 years. He will be dearly missed.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Marello Catholic Church, 7200 Auburn Folsom Road Granite Bay. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights.
