James. E Shelton, 73, of Benton, Tennessee passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, February 19, 2024. James was born on May 14, 1950 to the late William T. and Mamie A. Shelton. He was known for making everyone smile and laugh. He was a really happy soul.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Shelton, Thomas Shelton, and Jerry Shelton; his sisters, Wanda Lanoue, Gail Shelton, and Ruth Roberts.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 35 years, Leatrice Shelton; his children, Curtis Shelton, Tina Shelton, Brenda Calkins, and Becky Dotson; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren; sister, Becky Fountain; his brother in law, Joe Lanoue; and 2 very special cousins, Caroline Woody, and Ruby Woody; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland with Pastor William Jenkins officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm prior to the service.
