My memory's go way back to the late 60's and early 70's, where the Jim Shield home was a home for us Nowicki Boys. Jim and his brother Bill's home was a place to give us stability and friendship, and boy did we need Jim's stability. I'm not sure who i'd be if it were not for Jimmy Shields.
Jim had all the positive and great traits, and i can look back and thank my lucky stars, that Jim Shields was there in my young years. Sure we had a blast 'meeting' at the shield residence, especially on the Friday and Saturday night games, some poker, but mostly Sheepshead, then in the summer, we finish playing in the early morning the head off the the links to be the first foursomes to tee off at the local golf courses.
Jim was a stable force, and i appreciate his guidance. I will never forget him. (by the way, Mary thank you for sharing Jim with all his card playing Buds) signing off, Peter Nowicki
