James Silvestri

James Silvestri, age 88, of Vero Beach, FL, died Friday, October 24, 2025, peacefully at home. James was born on September 16, 1937, in Springfield, MA. He is the son of the late Anthony and the late Emma (Naccarato) Silvestri. He married Carol Ann Mazzei and was predeceased by her on April 2, 2003.
A lifelong educator and the former Superintendent of Marlboro Schools, he dedicated his life to helping others learn, grow, and reach their potential. James' legacy will remain alive in all our hearts.
James is survived by his daughter Jamie Silvestri and his son Todd (Elizabeth) Silvestri and his sister Nancy (Jerry) Hisert. He was predeceased by his son David Silvestri and grandson Izaak Adler. He is also survived by grandchildren Christina (Kenneth) Buchanan, Corinn (Michael) Bennett, Dylan Silvestri, Lily Silvestri, Jericho Adler, Maris Silvestri, Teresa Silvestri and Jordan (Courtney) Silvestri and great grandchildren Evelyn Buchanan and Roxas and Azlan Bennett and longtime companion Marie "Toni" Reukauf.
James was the kindest, most genuine man - a wonderful father, mentor, and friend to so many. His love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will stay with all of us forever.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday Oct 30 th from 4pm to 7pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home 1290 Route 9W Marlboro NY 12542
A funeral service will take place at the DiDonato Funeral Home on Friday Oct 31st at 11am.
Entombment at the Cedar Hill Cemetery Mausoleum will follow.
