James Smith Obituary

James Smith, 73, of Seneca, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Born on April 22, 1952, in Cornelia, Georgia, he was a son of the late Essie Smith. James was a graduate of Washington High School in Greenville, South Carolina. He retired from Milliken and was an avid Gamecock fan. James was of the Baptist faith.
He leaves to mourn his passing a sister, Winnie Banks, of Mt. Airy, Georgia; a brother, Marion Smith, of Cornelia, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including three special friends, Margaret Gibson, Chanel Gideon, and LeDell Tucker.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and McEntire with Rev. Joe Lee Banks, Jr., officiating.
The family received friends from noon until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.

McGahee-Griffin and McEntire Funeral Home of Cornelia was in charge of arrangements.
