Jim and I were godparents to my nephew JP Hummer. He was good friends with John & Pam, my sister & JP's parents. Jim, John, Jerry Ondo and I regularly jogged together when I still lived in Ohio. I got to know Jim through them and his wonderful sense of humor! You never saw Jim without saying good-bye with a laugh!
After I moved to California, John & Pam almost always planned a dinner with Jim when I came home to visit. More laughs, of course! I also looked forward to seeing him at Mass at St. Anthony's on Saturday evenings.
Jim was a great guy, a good and loyal friend. He lived a long and happy life and will be missed for sure.

Jim delivered mail to Huntington School on north St Clair Street in Painesville. Often, he would plan his route so he could eat lunch at the school. All the teachers and staff enjoyed his wit and were happy when they could chat for just a while when they saw him in the office, hall or teacher's lounge. His memory will always bring a smile to our faces!
