Mr. James Alvin Spivey, 82, died Thursday morning (January 19, 2012) at his residence after an extended illness. A 20 year resident of Orlando, he was a native of Douglas, but he has lived most of his life in Ware County. He was owner-operator of a beekeeper business named Okefenokee Apiaries for 48 years. Mr. Spivey was a member of University Blvd. Church of God and the Beekeeper's Association. His expertise and passion of beekeeping inspired many men from many areas to begin their own beekeeping operations. He is the son of the late Harley Spivey and Audis Davis Spivey. He is preceded in death by his wife, Luvine Beverly Spivey; one daughter-in-law, Rita Spivey; one grandson, Glen Dyal; two brothers, Harvey Spivey (wife Janice) and Buddy Spivey (wife Leona); and his grandparents, Leonard and Ada Spivey. Survivors include his fiancé, Belle Sisson and her children, Howard Straley, Robert Straley and Vickey Straley; one daughter, Betty Waldron Walker (husband Ken) of Waycross; one son, James Spivey of Waycross; four grandchildren, Kim Carter (husband Dennis) of Waycross, Sherri Spivey of Hoboken, Joey Spivey of Waycross, and Michelle Creamer (husband Dwyatt) of Lizella, Caleb Waldron (wife Christy) of Douglas, Tyrel Walker (wife Lindsay) of Dallas, and Tonya Walker of Kennesaw, GA; eight great grandchildren, Kaylie Nelson, Adrian Spivey, C J Waldron, Molly Waldron, Eli Waldron, Micah Creamer, McKenzie Creamer, and Maddux Walker; two brothers, J. L. Spivey (wife Linda) of Blackshear, and Ronnie Spivey (wife Linda) of Nicholls; two sisters, Viritha Spivey Moore (late husband Amos) of Willacoochee, and Wanda Spivey Steedley (late husband Harry) of Blackshear; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday (January 21, 2012) at New Life Assembly of God. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Music Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O.
