James "Jim" H. Springer, 82, of Waterloo, Iowa.

Born in Waterloo to Henry "Hank" and Nora Springer. He married Linda (Venter) McCool on December 24,1985.

Jim graduated from West High School in 1961. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran having served in the Vietnam War from 1968–1970. He retired from John Deere in 1993, and he owned and operated Hanks Live Bait & Tackle from 1986-1996.

He is survived by his wife Linda; sons Brooke and Shannon Meyers; daughter Lori (Mitchell) Evans; stepsons Bret Hardy and Aaron McCool; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Jerry Springer; four sisters-in-law, Carol Sue Venter, Laurie Venter, Pat Huting, Carol (Ron) Gatewood, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister JoAnn Schares; brother Jack Springer; and two great-grandsons Emmitt & Edgar Earhart.

Graveside services with full military rights will be held on Thursday, December 4th, 2:00 pm at Garden of Memories, Hwy 63, Waterloo. A celebration of life will follow from 4-7pm at the Amvets Post 49, Irving St, Cedar Falls.

Jim loved spending his time hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
