James G. Stack

James G. Stack, age 87, of Chicago, IL, passed peacefully on January 24, 2026. Dearest brother of Michael Stack, John (Lana) Stack, Jerry (Joanne) Stack. Preceded by in death by his beloved parents, Michael and Rose Stack nee Geirten and his older brother Robert Stack. Loving uncle of John Stack, Michael Stack, Jacquelyn Stack, Patrick (Darcy) Stack, Matthew Stack, Jennifer (Norm) Stack, Mary (Jeff) Zielinski, Anna Stack, Joseph (Carolyn) Stack, Aleta Stack, James Stack.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Captain. He was deeply grateful for his devoted caregiver, Sarah, whose compassion and presence meant more to him than words can express. Above all, he loved God, cherished his family, and found simple joy in life's pleasures-especially sharing a slice of pepperoni pizza with those he loved.

Visitation 8:30am to 9:30am on Saturday, January 31 at Hallowell & James, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside; Followed by Mass 10am at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., LaGrange. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Call 708-352-6500 for further information.
