James Rex Staggers Jr, 76 of Loveland passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO.
Jim was born on February 6, 1948, in Clarksville, Tennessee to James and Betty Lou Staggers. He was one of four children. For many years, he and his father enjoyed getting together for yearly fishing trips. Since childhood, Jim was mechanically inclined. He worked on vehicles as a hobby, even working on a complete restoration of a dune buggy a few weeks prior to his passing. He always said that it was stress relief for him.
He served in the Vietnam War, just shy of two years, and was awarded the National Defense Service Metal.
Jim had two boys, Kevin and Chris, with his first wife Marjorie Staggers. On December 11, 1993, he took Geri Fiebig, the love of his life, in marriage.
Jim was loved by all for his great sense of humor and genuine concern for others. If he could help he would. He loved all of his family as well as going to the mountains!
Jim worked for several high-tech companies, the last one being Seagate Technology, where he carried the title of Design Engineer. While at that company, he partook in the creation of three patents.
In addition to his wife Geri, he is survived by his mother, Betty Lou Staggers; three sisters, Betty Pool, Sally (Roger) Barnes, Susie (Dave) Griess. Two sons, Kevin (Jodi) Staggers and Chris (Catrina) Staggers. Stepchildren Karen (Brian) Croft, Joe Goeppinger and David (Emily) Goeppinger; as well as fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two nieces, and two nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father James Staggers Sr and his stepson Frederick Goeppinger.
