Jim and I met in the CWRU Masters of Organizational Development Program,, in the 80's and were friends for many years after. We drank coffee and went canoeing and did other friend things, sometimes on the porch of my Cleveland Heights house, and sometimes on the West Side, as we in Cleveland Heights referred to it.We had many good talksJerry Friedman Asheville

I was very saddened to hear about the death of Jim. Although I hadn't seen him or Marti for some years I have never forgotten his gentleness and compassion for all who were in his company. We worked together for a few years and I can say all that was stated about him in the Plain Dealer was very much who he was. He was a joy to be with and was sorely missed when he finally decided to retire completely. He was very organized and his desk was very much in order and ready to tackle whatever the day would bring. My memory of Jim was when I was interviewing for the position and as he sat across from me I stated something like "I bet it is hard for you to see my cluttered desk" and he replied, "no, it doesn't bother me because it isn't mine!" Total acceptance of others and how they functioned. Marti and Jim had many good years and he will now have them again. Lovingly, Lou Keim

Jim was one of the good people. As we say in Yiddish, "a mensh." A stand up human being. I am so glad to have known him. He will be missed. Bernice L. Sharpe
