James B. "Jim" Thompson, age 73, of Faribault died on December 5, 2025, unexpectedly while on vacation.
Memorial services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Faribault on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault at a later date.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Faribault on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. and also on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
James Bradley, the son of William J. Thompson and Violet C. Dettmer was born on July 29, 1952, in Faribault. He graduated from Faribault Senior High School. Jim owned and operated Thompson Income Tax, Faribault for over 40 years and also was formerly employed by Northfield Hospital and the Faribault Regional Center. He married Annette Rasmusson on September 25, 1999, in the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. He enjoyed ownership of several classic cars, completing crossword puzzles, traveling, hunting, coffee hour with his friends, reading western novels, taking his family to drive-in theaters but most of all spending time with his family and close friends.
He is survived by his wife, Annette; three children, Brad (and Rebekah Adams) Thompson, Bryon Thompson, Brooke (and Travis Andersen) Thompson; nine grandchildren, Nicolas Thompson, Tristan Thompson, Riley Thompson, Andrew Flicek, Ava Adams, Chase Flicek, Corbin Donkers, Evan Andersen and Delores Andersen; two siblings, Rose Marie Buendorf and Larry (and Tammy) Thompson; one sister in law, Mary Kay Thompson; three brother in laws, Nate Rasmusson, Dale (and Becky) Wadding and Den (and Roxy) Wadding.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Randy Thompson.
