There were many great "first times" with Uncle Jim. First time fishing on small pond with bamboo fishing poles. First time learning how to eat Maryland Blue crabs, and cool the old bay with a swig of Iron City. First time learning the proper technique for proudly waving the terrible towel.
Always a lot of laughs with Uncle Jim and when you hear someone say the phrase " I Know a Guy"
That guy was Uncle Jim.

It was 1983 and I was just about to go on my first date I was just shy of 16 and with the help of my aunt Janet convinced my parents to let me go on my first date. It just so happened the night of my date my uncle Jim was visiting , he was dressed in the craziest get up as I recall it was a bright yellow Steelers t shirt with orange suspenders and his pants rolled to his knees and tube socks pulled up to his knees and said he was going to answer the door when my date got there. I was afraid it would be my first and last date . I will always remember the fun times at grandma and grandads house there was always laughter when uncle Jim was there.

I have fond memories of Jim at Ocean City Maryland. He once drove Kim and I to the evening teenage beach parties and was going to wait in the car for us. But we went back and got him so he could have a beer too. Great guy who will be remembered and missed!
