Obituary of James D. Torrence
James D. Torrence, 61, of Acme passed away unexpectedly Sunday June 16, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Torrence was born March 22, 1963 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Maxine Swank Torrence.
Jim worked for Milton R. Neiderhiser & Sons Excavation for over 34 years. He enjoyed baking, hunting, working on his farm and especially spending time with his hunny, Karen. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all.
Jim is survived by his loving family, his wife of 36 ½ wonderful years, Karen L. Fencil Torrence; his children, Janet Beckerleg (Thomas), Jamie Hissem (Bryan Helsel), Amanda Black, and David Torrence; and his grandchildren, Aleshia Hissem (Lawrence), Nathaniel Ray, Tomasina Beckerleg, Eva Torrence, and Joey Black. Jim is also survived by his siblings, Tani Porter (Jeff), Randy Torrence (Geraldine), Eric Torrence (Sara), Erin Torrence, and Brian Torrence (Anna Marie); and by his good friend, Tim Zufall (Kris). In addition to his mother, Jim was preceded in death by his grandmother, Esther Swank.
In honoring Jim's wishes there will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday June 29th from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Jim and Karen's house.
