James William Umstad Jr

James "Jimmy" William Umstad Jr., age 71, of Hebbville, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
He is preceded by his mother and father, Dorothy Janet Umstad and James William Umstad Sr.
Jimmy was born on November 21, 1953, and lived most of his life in the small Baltimore neighborhood of Hebbville. As a boy, he loved playing baseball and was an accomplished third baseman like his favorite player, Brooks Robinson. At 18, Jimmy enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1971 to 1973 in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed bowling in the church bowling league, watching Baltimore Orioles and Ravens games, and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his brothers, Robert "Bobby" Umstad, John "Johnny" and wife Marie Louise Umstad, and Charles "Chucky" and his wife Angela Umstad; his nieces and nephews, Justen, Amanda, James Monroe, Joshua, Hannah, and James William III; and his great nieces and nephews; Lydia, Allister, and Jorden Maverick.
A memorial service will be held on August 10 at 1 PM at the Umstad family church, Salem United Methodist Church Of Hebbville, 7509 Windsor Mill Rd, Windsor Mill, MD, 21244.
