James F "Jim" Vach

James "Jim" F Vach, 76, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Brookfield, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024. He was born on July 24, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to James F. Vach Sr. and Ona (nee Dembinskis).
Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years, Linda (nee Mikos); his dear daughter Susan Merkle and his stepson Terry (Jennifer) Verhaeren II; granddaughter Tanis Merkle; brother Michael (Wendy) Vach; nephew Jimmy Vach; and his adored grand dogs Vinnie and Ellie.
Jim was preceded in passing by his parents and his niece Nicollette "NIKKI" Vach.
Jim grew up in Chicago and attended Lyons Township High School, Class of 1966. Jim went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with a minor in management from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1970. Jim served in the National Guard as a Staff Sargent from 1971 to1976. He received his CPA and held various positions throughout his career including Chief Financial Officer at William Auto Group and Nordic Energy. He retired in 2010.
In his retirement years Jim worked as a tax preparer for H & R Block and as a customer service rep at Lowe's Home Improvement. Jim took great pleasure in traveling and gardening. He also enjoyed relaxing by his koi pond.

The Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday December 16, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM at Friedrich Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540.
