James "Jim" Walker

I had the privilege to call Jim Walker my friend for at least 60 years. He was more than a friend, he was a mentor. I first met Jim when I was a student at Nyack College and he was pastor of my home church. Beth, Linda and Lois were just little girls then. A bond quickly developed between Jim and myself. He was always there for me. He drove me to seminary in Illinois. He drove to Michigan to attend my wedding. He sometimes stopped to visit when he was doing God´s work through Bible Literature International. He called me with comforting words after I lost my wife to cancer a number of years ago. A few years back he visited me here in Florida.
I remember our last phone conversation. I told him that when he meets God in eternity, he is going to hear these words, "Well done my good and faithful servant."
Although we lived over a thousand miles from each other and only talked occasionally by phone, I am going to miss my friend and mentor.
