James Walker, 69, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in the Dawson, Texas home where he raised his children. He was comforted in his final moments by his children at his side and the presence of his life partner and soulmate, Gomi Wolf.

Born on July 10, 1956, in Titusville, Pennsylvania, James was the son of the late Kenneth Walker and Eleanor Walker.

A man of legendary grit and a tireless work ethic, James spent his career in industrial maintenance, working many years for Guardian Glass Company before retiring from Russell Stover Candy Company in Corsicana.

James was the definition of "unbreakable." He famously survived a severe electrical accident that claimed his fingertips and later walked away from a 70-mph collision with a bull in his car. In both instances, his family recalls his primary concern wasn't his recovery, but how quickly he could get back to work.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nancy Walker; and his nephew, Jason Smith.

His legacy of strength is carried on by his partner, Gomi Wolf of Corsicana; his son, Thomas Walker of Dawson; and his daughter, Jennifer Culwell (Brian) of Jacksboro. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Walker (Nancy) of Dawson, and Bill Walker (Deb) of Scottsboro, Alabama; his sister, Linda Mandel of Torrance, California; his granddaughters, Autumn & Kayla Walker; his grandsons, Tyler & Taylor Culwell; and his great-grandson, Dalton McCreary. He will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with James's wishes, no formal services will be held. His family encourages those who knew him to celebrate his life by working hard, fixing something broken, or cheering loudly for the Stars.
