James Albert Warren

James Albert Warren Jr., 91, a long-time resident of Afton, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Friday, May 30, 2025. James was born in Seminole, Oklahoma, on December 20, 1933, to James Sr. and Noma (Woods) Warren. After graduating high school, Jim was drafted into the United States Army, where he excelled and was promoted to squad leader. After serving his country for two years, he returned home and would marry the love of his life Beverly Randolph. Together they would be married for over sixty-eight years. Jim was also an excellent athlete. While in college he was offered to play baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals but decided to finish college to become a teacher and coach. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a master's degree and started his long career teaching public school. He specialized in teaching seventh and eighth grade and coached basketball. When he wasn't teaching Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his hands. He was also a Scout Master where he was inducted into the Boy Scout Hall of Fame in Washington D.C. After retiring in 1991, Jim and Beverly enjoyed spending time together traveling the United States. Preceding Jim in passing include his parents James Sr. and Noma Warren, children, Jeffrey Ray, Michael, Tammy Warren, and sister, Sue Green.
Those left to share the memory of Mr. Warren include his wife, Beverly Warren of the home, son, Greg Warren and his wife Karen of Las Vegas, Nevada, and granddaughter, Autumn Northey.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church in Afton, Oklahoma, with Reverend Brian Gibson officiating.
Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma.
