James Lee Washburn

James Lee Washburn Of Springfield, Virginia, passed October 26, 2025. He is the beloved husband of 59 years to Irmtraud Washburn; loving father of Tina Washburn and the late Travis Washburn; cherished grandfather of Samantha and James Steeman and father-in-law of Gerald Steeman. James treasured his relatives and friends. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Army for over 20 years and another 28 years as a civil servant for the Army. James loved nature, animals, boating, and working outside. Relatives and friends may call at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA on Wednesday, November 5 from 3-6PM, and at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Thursday, November 6 from 11AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 12PM. Interment Arlington National Cemetery on a later date.
