James Weber Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 17, 2009.
James Richard Weber passed away at Kennewick General Hospital on the evening of April 17, 2009. He was born in Missoula, Montana on August 10, 1942 to Dr. Richard D. and Lucille A. Weber, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Missoula County High School in 1960. In 1969, he graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula. His desire to be in the medical field like his father became a distant dream. After he had worked a short time in Minneapolis Hospital, he joined the iron workers in Montana and Washington which led him to the Tri-Cities. He was one who gave more than one hundred percent to any project or solved a problem for his employer. For thirty years he was connected to the Hanford Site either directly or indirectly with various companies. Before retiring, he was a Senior Engineer for Areva. After that, he worked for Adaptive Energy, always staying in touch with the Area and wanting to build something else that works. When taking on any project, he definitely made things happen. His desire to do things to the best of his ability inspired others to work harder to measure up to him. He preferred to work on an entire project to make a system function correctly rather than to do just one part of it. Creating an idea, building a system and seeing it work truly motivated him. When encountering a problem with generators on x-ray systems, he could trouble-shoot it and repair it. His boss and long-time friend of Adaptive Energy noted: "To Jim, problems were only made to be solved." If he had any personal flaws, let them rest with him. Of course, not everyone understood his sense of humor. One of his children said he spoke in code. He is survived by his wife of over thirty years, Patricia; two brothers: Bill (Giuseppina) & Ted; three sons: James R. (Laura), Jason D. and Jamie D.; two step-daughters: Karina (Ron) and Nicoli (Brian); and twelve grandchildren We all miss you "JR". You were an exceptional man. We would like to thank Dr. Frank Cole and his wonderful team of Doctors. Also, we thank the Kennewick General Hospital and it's nursing staff. Your compassion was so appreciated by Jim and his loved ones. A private service will be held at a later date.
