James Foster Whitehead

James Foster Whitehead, age 84, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born July 19, 1941, James was a lifelong resident of Marshall County and a man known for his hard work ethic, integrity and love of family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and quiet strength.
James was a member of Westvue Church of Christ. He found great joy in the simple blessings of life--time spent with loved ones, the beauty of the outdoors, and the satisfaction of a job well done.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Whitehead; two sons, Mike (Susan) Whitehead and Mark (Darryl) Whitehead; four grandchildren, Bryan, Keith, Kelli and Kyleigh and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benton and Bettie Florence Whitehead, two brothers, Sonny Whitehead and Jake Whitehead and a sister, Ruby Calahan.
Visitation with the family will be held at Westvue Church of Christ, 1710 Mooresville Hwy, Lewisburg, TN, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 3:00 pm -7:00 pm and will continue on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 9:00 am until the funeral hour.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 am from the Chapel of Westvue Church of Christ with Rick Rolin officiating. Burial will follow in Short Cemetery in the Springplace community.
Pallbearers will include Keith Brown, Mark Chapman, Travis Holder, Ben Porterfield, Danny Tate and Bryan Whitehead.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Annie Jones, his caregiver and friend, to the nurses and staff at Maury Regional Medical Center, and to his Compassus Hospice caregivers, Andrew Tomlin and Tracy Grimes.
