James Wilcox Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fairmount Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory on Feb. 2, 2026.
James Carl Wilcox, 69, of Hemet, California, passed away on January 17, 2026.

James dedicated more than 40 years of his life to his work as an electronic engineer, contributing to systems designed to keep people safe. His career reflected his sharp mind, steady hands, and deep sense of responsibility to others. Outside of work, James embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm.

He didn't just have hobbies; he had passions. He pursued everything with 100% intensity-be it the mechanical freedom of motorcycles and Jeeps or the immersive world of VR. Despite his thirst for adventure and his extensive Disney collection, he was happiest at home, finding true peace in the company of his cats.

James was a devoted father, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his son, Daniel, his wife Anna, and their daughter Avery of Reno, NV; his step daughter Kristen of Elyria, OH; Grandson, Jack of Gallatin, Tennessee; his sister, Linda, and her husband Richard of Parker, Colorado; and his brother, Ron, and his wife Lorraine of Turlock, California. He also leaves behind three nieces, two nephews, nine grand nieces and grand nephews, and three great grand nieces and great grand nephews, all of whom he cherished deeply.

He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and his favorite saying: "Hindsight is 20/20." His presence will be profoundly missed, and his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
