James Kirk Winkler, 67, of Azle, Texas, died of natural causes on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in his home.
He was born in Nowata, Oklahoma in 1956 to James Robert Winkler and Olivia Jean Burkhart. Kirk grew up in Nowata, OK before moving with his family to San Diego, CA. He later returned to Bartlesville, OK before attending Oklahoma State University where he earned Bachelors of Science degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1983. Kirk worked around the country as a freelance database analyst before settling in Arlington, TX. It was there that he started his own business as a database analyst consultant, completing several large corporate contracts.
Kirk met Norma Nazareno in 1996. They were married on February 13, 1997. They lived in Arlington for several years before spending two years in the Philippines. They returned to the United States and spent the last two decades in Azle.
Kirk is preceded in death by his father, Jim Winkler; and his mother Jean Crouch.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Winkler; brothers, Kevin Winkler and Jody Winkler; sisters, Kathy Moore and Amy Beth Winkler; son, Jeno Nazareno; and granddaughter, Jeanna Nazareno.
A memorial service will be held at White’s Funeral Home at 105 Denver Trail, Azle, TX, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00AM.
