James Walter "Jimmy" Wise

James "Jimmy" Walter Wise, age 67, passed away at his home in St. Charles, Illinois, on November 30, 2025.

He was born on December 31, 1957, in St. Charles, Illinois, to Walter E. Wise and Celeste O. (Morlan) Wise.

On May 20, 2000, Jimmy married Sharon Wise, and together they spent 25 years building a life rooted in partnership, routine, and loyalty.

Jimmy was a hands-on, practical man who spent countless hours in the garage tinkering, fixing, and helping anyone who needed a hand. He was one of the greatest men you could ever meet, with a heart of gold and a willingness to help anyone, often to the point of never saying no. Whether he was working on cars or taking on odd jobs, Jimmy was always the first to show up. He was the type of person who stayed busy because there was always something he could do for someone else.

Jimmy loved watching NASCAR and rarely missed a race. If one wasn't on, he kept reruns playing, especially anything featuring Dale Earnhardt Sr/Jr.

More than anything, Jimmy shared a deep bond with his dog, Star, who was truly his best friend. She was rarely far from his side, and their walks, routines, and time together brought him comfort and companionship.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sharon Wise; his children James (Sandra) Wise Jr., Summer (Burns) Wise, Candy Rogers, and Cassie (Arthur) Williams; his grandchildren Riley Wise, Ava Burns, Emma (O'Keefe) Wise, Virginia Cantrell, Jurnee (Gabriel) Williams, Nathaniel Leland, Tevin Hillman, Arienna (Marlee) Schuett, Jayana Richardson, Thomas Richardson, Brian Newbolds, Brittany (Isaiah) Felix, and Nina Newbolds; and his great-grandchild Liam Williams. He is also survived by his siblings Michael Wise, Pamela (Fairchild) Wise, Althea (Ingram) Wise, and Edgar Wise, along with his brothers-in-law Matt, John, Bob, and Mike (Sherry) Newbolds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. Wise and Celeste O. (Morlan) Wise; his daughter, Christine "Cricket" Wise; and his son-in-law, Brian (Laura) Newbolds.

Jimmy lived a straightforward, hardworking life centered on family, loyalty, and helping others. He was a proud Husband, Father and Papa. His steady presence, generosity, and the comfort he brought to everyone around him will be deeply missed.

An open-house visitation will be held at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles, Illinois, on December 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Jimmy will be cremated following the visitation, and no additional services or procession will take place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses. Contributions can be offered by cash, check, or Zelle.
