James Wnek Obituary

Survived by his sons, James Jr. (Liana), Jason, and Jeremy; proud grandfather of Isabella and Jacob; cherished siblings, Janet, Lorraine, Sonny and Carol. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Wnek (November 25, 2004) and his parents, Joseph (Helen) Wnek.
Whitey was admired for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to his family. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially a good pastry, and he never missed a family gathering.
Whitey's humor, warmth, and storytelling brought light and laughter to every occasion. His legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation for Whitey will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL 60431 on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be Monday, November 17, 2025, 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II (Hills of Rest)
