Dunn, NC: Mr. James Elton Woodard, age 88 of Glenfield Drive passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. David Price from Auburndale, Florida. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mr. Woodard was born on March 1, 1936 in Johnston County, North Carolina to the late James Franklin and Annie Marie Phillips Woodard. He was also preceded in death be his brother, Norwood Woodard. Mr. Woodard was a retired accountant with Maryland Federal Savings and Loan in Hyattsville, Maryland for 22 years. He owned and operated Wood Wings Courier Service in College Park, Maryland for 21 years. Mr. Woodard was US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He liked to collect stamps and coins. Mr. Woodard enjoyed working in his yard and had an interest in antique cars.
He was survived by his wife of 64 years, Glenda A. Woodard; nephew, Randy Woodard and wife, Patricia; niece, Melanie Logue and husband, Kevin; and his beloved Allen Family.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 12:30PM to 1:45PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to the American Legion Banner Post 109 Benson; memo line: Veteran’s Park, P.O. Box 153, Benson, NC 27504.
