James Woolsey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 9, 2025.
James Lindsay Woolsey, 81, passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones, following a year long battle with cancer. He was a cherished husband, father, friend and a devoted follower of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is now in the presence of God and His glory, along with a host of family and friends.

Jim was born in Puyallup Washington on May 11, 1944. The family lived in Yakima but moved to Edmonds Washington in 1950 and was a part of the Kings Garden Ministry. Among other things, he was a basketball star for Kings High school. After marriage, he eventually made his way down to the Portland/ Vancouver area where he worked various jobs including at a sawmill, building forklifts, working at Columbia Machine as a hydraulic pipe fitter, and finished his working years by owning / operating a small yard care business. Jim enjoyed fishing, wood cutting, gardening, working on cars and traveling in their RV.

Jim is survived by Grace, his wife of 59 years, their daughter Tamera Pierce and their son Dwayne, his brother Dave and sister Joanna, his 8 grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Byron and baby John, sister Pauline, his son Steven, and one great grandchild.
